They're capable of casting a variety of spells from their internal mana pool, thus specifically fitting in the. Depending on the dialect, a Generalist Magus may be called thaumaturgus, thaumaturge, or thaumaturgist. Their sorcery, or Magecraft, as termed in the region, is called Thaumaturgy. This includes all sorts of elemental attacks, healing, and other generic casting.Specialists, meanwhile, cannot cast generalist magic but have access to highly specialised abilities, defined by their speciality. The more specialised the ability, the more powerful its effects.

The more general, the less powerful.It is unclear why Lycasi magic users are so different. It's possible this is the result of several centuries of separate evolution, an accidental or intentional effect of meddling, or a combination thereof.

Depending on your talent, it might never be possible. Instead, the mage would have you start smaller. He could take a bite from an apple and have you imagine reversing time on it until you finally make it whole, though that's a fairly complex act itself. Or perhaps he'd have you draw lines on a paper, and then try to reverse time to erase them.

Eventually, you might form a special ability that allows you to reverse time in a very small and specific space, marked by runes you have trained on for years, maybe even enchanted to redirect energy from another source to help with the reversal. And even that is no simple tanks. While Kellebran Wizardry might find it trivial to achieve this level of precision, Licasi magecraft is still sorcery, and as such far less precise.

AfinitiesA Thaumaturge is able to case more versatile spells than a Specialist, but at times even they are limited to a single aspect, such as ice or fire. That is called an affinity. It's also possible that a generalist magus which can cast all sorts of spells may be particularly talented at one thing, which would also be called his affinity. A seer is able to tell you what your affinity is after he figures out you are Thaumaturge, and if you're limited to that or have the potential to larn other magic as well.Examples of affinities include Pyromancy or Pyrokinesis, Fire Thaumaturgy whose adepts are often called Pyromancers.
